Hi ?Jessica, I just got up and wait for my coffee to be done.
I have a job interview today...kinda excited.
Later my dog hiking groups meets for a play date in the park. I'm not sure, if I can make it in time. Probably I'll try, it's not too far.
Tonight I have to work.
The sun is shining so wonderful, but they reported snow for tonight:shock:.

Hey Candy;
Good luck for your job interview:109:
We haven't got snow here anymore :(
I like snow.
Tonight I also have to work till midnight.
I'm looking forward for my bed tonight
Greetings
Jessica

Hejho ^^

I really start worrying about my cat, today she wanted to be stroked ! First in the morning while breakfast and now in the afternoon again. She really wanted to be cuddled and she even went on my "Schoß" (i could not find the english word for "Schoß", they all sound weird).
I hope this behavior is not a bad sign. You may wonder why this seems worrying to(?) me, but Lilly is about 7 years old, she was always a bity cat, i think the longest stroke time was about 30 sec, then she started biting. And today she sat there for several minutes and she really wanted to be stroked. That's odd!

I have holiday (1 week) and we have guests with a dog, an Australian Shepherd. In summerbreak they have also been at us for a week hiking. Now they are here to go skiing, of course without dog and so he stays with me. As they came and gave him to me he was so nervous and hyped up that he jumped into my face, he broke out a little pieco of my tooth with his teeth
That was a really great start for us

Hi,
you don't use the word stroke. It's to pet a cat. And the word for "Schoss" is pretty easy... it's lap, like in laptop.

Maybe your cat just found out, how nice it is. So don't worry about it.

What are your plans with the dog?:D

Nothing special.
I am just sitting in my room with him and hide some "goodies" for him so he is entertained.
And I go out for walks.

EDIT (automatische Beitragszusammenführung)

you don't use the word stroke. It's to pet a cat.
Oh really ? I didn't know that.

And the word for "Schoss" is pretty easy... it's lap, like in laptop.
Ok thank you. I googled for a translation and there were several words but i wasn't sure which one would be best.

Maybe your cat just found out, how nice it is. So don't worry about it.

After 7 hard years of biting and terrorism ?
Previously, till she got about 4 or 5 years, she attacked dogs when they got too near, "too" near" were about 2 meters. Today that is better, she still makes a cats hump and hisses, but doesn't attack.
Weird cat...totally

Maybe she gets older ;).

Hello there :039:
Sofi, how was your week with the dog?
I hope, it wasn't that stressful for you in the holidays.
You are worrying about your cat because she likes to cuddle?
Maybe it's because it's cold :eusa_think: My cat never sit on my lap, but when it's cold, she likes to crawl under my blanket  But she only lay beside or under my legs.

At the moment, it's snowing again. It's so wondeful :054:I like the landscape covered in snow.
I have to work later, but I'm glad that I didn't have to sit at home all day.
I had an dispute with my parents on friday again. It's ever the same topic and I don't want to argue about that anymore.
My mum thinks, I didn't eat enough and my dad thinks I eat not enough of the right things.
Since a few weeks I am vegan. So I'm cooking many things by myself and didn't eat the things my father cook. I also didn't eat cookies or something like that.
So my mum is freaking out, because she didn't see me eat something and my dad is freaking out becaus he says a human have to eat some meat
Why can't they let me live my life? I didn't smoke, I didn't trink, I didn't skip school... so what's their problem?
I think, i's a parental thing I can't understand because I don't have childrens
Greetings
Jessica

It was very good. He is a really nice dog.

Today I' am going to drive back to school :(
I should have studied and made homework. I have a test on Wednesday but I forgot my sheets so couldn't study.
In english we had a english theatre from native speakers from england. It was about a geek who made a potion which changes oneself into the direct opposite.
And now we have to write a text about a friend and how he would change if he drank this potion.
But I have no idea what to write. I could write that this friend would get impolite. Any ideas in what he could change ? Any property-change-ideas?

___

I think your parents are just worried, I don't think it's a big deal, almost everybody thinks vegan means just eating salat and having nutrient-deficient.
Keep vegan, learn to cook vegan and then invite your family and friends to a vegan dinner.
Or, If you live near Berlin visit "Kopp's" with them ;))

Yes that's right. But in the US you say "pet". Stroke has more a sexual meaning. At least here;).

  • English only! Beitrag #192
Maybe they don't have sex here
So you're living in USA? Interesting! Why and where, how long and so on...?

  • English only! Beitrag #193
I live about 20 minutes from Knoxville/Tennessee. My husband is from here, that's why I moved;).

What about you?

  • English only! Beitrag #194
Maybe they don't have sex here

Irish Catholics never have sex  no no, never ever :003:

But maybe it's because Irish people use "pet" also in another context. My host mum often just said "Awk, pet." or "Hello pet" to me ..
Was a bit confusing the first times to be called "pet" ..

  • English only! Beitrag #195
...and all the children here they're accidents because nobody knew what happened exactly :eusa_shhh:

Yeah that's true - they're using 'pet' in this context.
Didn't think about it until now...

@Candy: do you like it in USA? Was it easy to leave your homeland and follow your husband?
I'm here because I felt in love with Ireland. Only with the country of course ;)
The Germans changed so badly in the last 20 years. Don't like it to be there.
I think I'm happy here. More relaxed, the life is easier, slower... I moved to Ireland in January 2011. So everything is still kind of new and exciting.
It wasn't easy the first time. I'm from east Germany so I didn't speak English. Or not much... Just wat I've learned over years in Germany because I translated a few song texts and so.
I'm still working on my English but it is good enough now to understand and to speak quite free.
The first time here I couldn't even order a sandwich...

Hey guys.

Does anybody know what "Nuts" menas, and in which case you use it ?

I heard that a couple of times but always in another context.

  • English only! Beitrag #197
I think "nuts" means "Nüsse", or do you mean it in another context?
I have my last french-test tomorrow, I'm so nervouse but happy because it's the last one for my whole life!!! =D

  • English only! Beitrag #198
I think nuts means also "verrückt". for example "you're nuts" means "du spinnst".

  • English only! Beitrag #199
Jessica is right. "You drive me nuts..." ... du machst mich wahnsinnig.

  • English only! Beitrag #200
Sorry i should have mentioned which nuts i meant

Thank You. This version of "nuts" really fits in each context i've ever heard ^^
