Hey everyone ;)

yes, he has round ears and no tail. I love that look but the ears and tails were cutted, and I would like to get the whole dog and not just the half.
My puppie will have normal ears and a tail ;)

to Jessica: No, the breed is not on the list of dangerous dogs. Not at the moment and I hope it never will be there :(

Im soooo excited to get a own dog. Yesterday I bought feeding dishes for the dog :D haha although I get him in summer :D

hugs to everyone,

Shila

Hej.
That's a great idea. I also love the english language and i want to get better. I have never been to an english countrie, but in September i will travel to London with my class.
I have a friend who is english, she is adult, has twins (7 years), i babysit them when they are in my town (they have a very gib and great house here).

I think it might be interresting how much words everyone translated in the post. So that we can see how much words did everyone really know.

I knew each word in my post, but I wrote very simple. ;)
Hope that my (treasure of words) - ok I looked after it, it's word pool - will be better in august when I'm in the USA.

Do you know the family you will be at ? (is "be at" correct ?)
California must be great ! Are you near the sea ? And will you travel alone ?

  • English only! Beitrag #66
No, I don't know the family yet, but I have a good friend in L.A. and she is asking friends of her if they need a (or an?) babysitter.
So this is the first opinion, the other way would be that I go to school - to practise english - or to visite courses (for veterinary) at a university.

I hope so, I love the californian sea, such high waves - great for surfing.
Yes I will travel allone, maybe my father is going with me to visit our friend, because we saw them 2008 the last time. But that's not sure. ;)

So, sorry I don't think that my sentences are correct in grammer, but I think you understand what I want to say. :D

It's "a babysitter" you only use "an" if the first letter of the word is a,e,i,o or u. Or if you spell the forst letter like one of these. (example give: an hour)

And, If I am allowed to correct you ;)
is written with one "L".

Have you ever been surfing ?

  • English only! Beitrag #70
Oh yes, that are mistakes which I make when I write to fast. Also in written exams - I always lose a letter - or write to much letters. Bad mistakes! xD

No, but I think it's funny, and here I stand on the Snowboard in winter and it's not such a big difference. ;)

  • English only! Beitrag #71
Do you really think surfing is that easy ? I am not supposed to say that snowboarding is easy, but i imagine it way easier than surfing
Did you ever try it?

  • English only! Beitrag #72
My aunt is a host-mom this year for a guy from Peru. He was surfing every day, he stand on the snowboard for 5 minutes and was able to drive down a red piste, and this not to slow and very good. So I think this should also work in the other way. :)
You stand on the surfboard in the same way as on the snowboard, and it's also the same movement to do turns. ;)

And to answer your question, No I have not tried it yet but I will and then I can send you a photo or a video

And if the vowel is pronounced like a consonant (as in 'university') it is also 'a'. So it's really just a matter of pronounciation. ;)
Do you mind if we correct mistakes? Or would it just be annoying?

  • English only! Beitrag #74
I know how I have it to say but when I have to write it im not so sure.
I'm always better in speaking than in my writing exams. xD

And, yes, I think that it is useful when we correct each other! So that we learn from our mistakes. ;)

  • English only! Beitrag #75
very well^^

This has to be 'too'.

And you wouldn't say, someone drives snowboard. The verb is actually snowboarding. In this context, I would have just said, 'was able to go down'

work in the other way.
here just leave out the 'in'

me way as on the snowboard
here add a 'the same way as you do on the snowboard'

eeeerm... yep, that would be it :D

EDIT (automatische Beitragszusammenführung)

it's a great practice for me, too, for I'll be an English teacher one day

Ok, I know that I make many mistakes in writing. I know what I want to say/write but I don't know the right words. ;)

So and now I have to turn off my computer! I must learn chemistry, we have a test tomorrow and I don't understand anything! Help!:eusa_doh:

  • English only! Beitrag #77
oh jeez^^ much luck with that! i was sooo bad at chemistry!

  • English only! Beitrag #78
Most of the time I am just too lazy for opening leo.org or anything to translate words. Even if I'm reading something I don't look it up unless there's no way guessing it from the context. But most of the time you still get the gist of what's said.

And guys... don't forget that "I" has a capital letter and that English uses interpunction (?) as well.

I must learn chemistry, we have a test tomorrow and I don't understand anything!
You have to study, you mean?
What's the topic? I might be able to help you ( if it's not about Benzole :D )

edit:
Everyone I know has a clinch with chemistry. But it's so logical and unbelievably interesting.
I'll study it after I've gotten my Abitur tests.

  • English only! Beitrag #79
a yeah i have to study. And yes it's about "Benzen/Benzol" and "organische Säuren" very difficult. :p
