yes, I'm also interested in it, but our teacher is very strict. And my class is very bad, on the last test we had 10 negative grades from 17 persons!
And I am one of the better students in chemistry. I think the best grade in our class last year was a 3.

Organic acids are pretty simple.
Did you do soap and fat yet?
I hated the "Aromatische Substitution" though. :D

Same at our school somehow. Last year all classes except mine had bad averages and the best grades were around 10 points.
My chemistry teacher likes to give good grades though. :D

School is able to ruin any interest though, that's right. It always depends on the teacher.

I don't like chemistry, in middle school (i think hauptschule is like middle school, isn't it?) i always got an A/1.
But now I am hardly getting a 5! I don't like my teacher.

wow, that's odd!
a fellow student told me, that their chemistry teacher once raised the grade point avarage, because the exam went so bad.

Some themes are very interesting and easy to study. But other ones are so difficult and there are so many formulas! (?, 'Leo' says that)

I also know a teacher who did this. ;)

EDIT (automatische Beitragszusammenführung)

I love leo. I always tell my coaching students at 'schülerhilfe' to use it, when they're looking up words in google translate with their smartphones.

Me too, and it didn't help - the test (Schularbeit) had to be repeated.
In my school there are many teacher who give the points so that enough students have a 4 - so that the test must not be repeated.

No leo says formulas is the english word for "Formeln". I don't trust him in this way!

My math teacher is the specialist in pushing grades.
Last Thursday he handed back my Maths test and said: "I did some magic here with the grading key."
I had 14 points which I didn't expect and would not have given myself.
Not as if I would complain... :D

sure? it sounds like latin for me. xD

  • English only! Beitrag #92
well, since English is a Romanic language, that might just be right as well ;)

  • English only! Beitrag #93
There is a lot of similarities between English and Latin. Though the English stole a lot of Germand words aswell. :D

I think I'll go to bed now...I need a good night's sleep or I'll be wrecked tomorrow morning.

@FinnFinn: Yes I like country music. Two years ago I was at a George Strait concert... absolutely great.

I really like living here. There are some differences, but you can handle that.

Everyone I know has a clinch with chemistry. But it's so logical and unbelievably interesting.
I'll study it after I've gotten my Abitur tests.

I was thinking quite the same way except that I never thought about doing my Bachelor or even my Masters in chemistry ..
Well, now I changed my mind. I do unterstand people hating chemistry. But I admit chemistry is school is indeed pretty simple. I had to struggle 2 years with chemistry at university and I am glad it is over. It was so much to learn by heart - and I am rather the lazy type of student :003: especially the organic part with citrc acid cycle, glycolysis and all that kind of biological pathways and cycles .. omg, I cannot believe that I ever passed a test asking for that kind of stuff O.O

  • English only! Beitrag #96
lol I always wonder about people thinking chemistry is that difficult-I'm studying right now ;)
And I am -as Nienor- a lazy student too... But I have to lern that much, at the end of january I've to pass my first exam. The last chemistry exam was in school 3 years ago -.- So learning right noooow-*aww* okay tomorrow...

PS: my english is a bit rusty^^

I was at the biotechnological school and that stuff with citric acid cycle and glycolysis we had to learn by heart  It was a big part of the examination at the end :silence:
But I like chemistry anyway. Also I like physics. I don't like our current teacher, but physics are very interesting, also is chemistry.
Greetings
Jessica

What are the differences?

And, yeah, you saw your first coyote. That's cool. Im exited too.
Did the coyote also see you? How did it behave?

@Raccoon: My third grade did something about a raccoon story in their english class yesterday.

@ a - an: I know the rules, but in films there's sometimes an "an" said before words, pronounced with a consonant in the beginning, to emphasize them. Is this only okay in speaking or also in writing?

@ leo, beo and the others: I use them a lot. Also when I'm watching films. I understand what's said and if I don't know a word, I get the meaning by context. But I want to know the other meanings of the words and the other possibilities in translating to learn more and to increase my word pool.

That sounds great, I like George! Is he your favorite? My favorite bands/singers are Rascal Flats, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley.
